 Writing: Beginning Coaching

in the Company of CoachesThere are several issues that seem to come up when beginning coaching. (as the client) We will go over theses one by one and discuss the points.

It is hard to start off totally honest.

This in itself is not so much a matter of being dishonest but more a desire to guard oneself against being too open. As the coaching continues and the coaching becomes familiar, then the issues of being guarded tend to subside

For coaching to be completely successful for you, the more honest you are, the more benefit you can gain from the experience.

Lets look at honesty.

The quality or condition of being honest; integrity.
Truthfulness; sincerity: in all honesty.

and honest

Marked by or displaying integrity; upright.
Not deceptive or fraudulent; genuine: honest weight.
Equitable; fair: honest wages for an honest day's work.

Characterized by truth; not false: honest reporting.
Sincere; frank: an honest critique.

Of good repute; respectable.
Without affectation; plain: honest folk.
Virtuous; chaste.


So you can see that integrity is now being used more often

Integrity
Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code.
The state of being unimpaired; soundness.
The quality or condition of being whole or undivided; completeness.

This brings up an interesting point. If we hold fast to our own moral code of being guarded then we are in fact being honest because we are in integrity with ourselves and so just by using the words we have a paridim

 Web Site Information: Members Area

in the Company of CoachesToday I uploaded the members area for the in the Company of Coaches website. It is a content management section which allows all the members to add their own content.

This section of the site will eventually be used for online coaching of clients as well as being information rich for clients to use in their lives and business

It will also be a meeting point for the team of coaches and that is where its main focus is at present. As we have five coaches in the team with more about to join, this gives them all the material needed and as it is online, it is always the latest and up to date.

in the Company of CoachesI have been setting up a majordomo system on the server that houses the Company of Coaches website.

I now have it working and running well which has allowed the members of in the Company of Coaches to email one address to contact all the members.

The next step is to set up a php-nuke site in the background for the members and clients use. This will also allow us to offer far more in the way of other services related to Coaching

 Project Information: Website improvements to cater for the expansion

in the Company of CoachesWith five coaches now involved in the Company of Coaches, the next stage in the overall concept has become evident. The next stage will include:
  • Welcome Kit online
  • Forum for Coaches and Clients
  • Majordomo mail lists
  • Clients area to submit data such as forms, coaching reviews etc
  • All Coaching info online
There are a few other areas that need attention but these will fit into the site as we build the pieces above

The idea I have is that everything to do with in the Company of Coaches should be done online and be available. This alleviates the need to double up or email changes as the latest info will be ready when it is

 Web Site Information: Company of Coaches Website 1st stage Complete

in the Company of Coaches'in the Company of Coaches' website is complete. Well Stage 1 is finished with all the sections now up and available

We are already attracting interest from Educators in Canberra (Australia) so it doesn't take long. Fleur is in Canberra and has had contact with a number of interested parties. Time is the great telling factor and as long as we continue to deliver what is promised, then there will always be people wanting our service.

We offered a free teleclass on the website and this has also attracted a fair amount of interest as well as a number of enrollments. The teleclass is on "Becoming Irresistably Attractive". This covers the areas that allow you to become a magnet for attracting what you want rather than wishing and hoping that you will get lucky. Here is what Fleur has to say about it...

The course of becoming Irresistibly Attractive is designed to make you a magnet for what' 's out there in our world. People who live effortlessly seem to use many of these principles.

Fleur has been sending me through the latest updates for the companyofcoaches.com site. As fast as they have been coming through, I have managed to format them into html and add them to the site incorporating the links as I go.

The site is beginning to have some context around what we do and achieve and the various articles fit extremely well inside that sphere

The next thing for me to do is get up some images to take away the blandness of the text (although it looks great)

The information pages I have uploaded today are Organisation, Executives, Managers, Educators and an article on Managers as Coaches

The 'in the Company of Coaches' website has been updated to reflect the overall idea that we are following.

The bios of the three principal coaches have been changed to reflect the culture requirements of large organisations instead of having a 'flowery, feel good' paragraph. There are now short but succinct paragraphs telling what we do

I feel that Coaching as a profession is required to focus on the ROI (return on investment). It is OK to charge $1000 if the return the organisation gets back from that investment is more than the investment. Organisations are happy to pay, what is generally considered, huge salaries to their top execs but what is usually not mentioned is that, the return from those execs is usually worth a great deal more. Lets face it, you wouldn't pay $1500 for a TV that needed a repair man to adjust every day at $100 a visit. The return on the investment is just not worth it. Organisations work along the same lines. Sure, we sometimes buy a TV that breaks down, sure, organisations sometimes hire a bum exec but no one likes to lose money.

This article has gone off the subject a little but, hey, its interesting!!!!

in the Company of Coaches

Fleur Dwyer and Barb Seaton of CoachingSpaces and I were sitting around at their farm in Wolumla discussing the needs and requirements of Organisations and the needs and wants of Coaches when we conversed about the concept of "in the Company of Coaches". The topic had been discussed earlier but it was this conversation that really built the idea for me

This has lead to the formation of the in the Company of Coaches website and the sourcing of the best Coaches to join us in providing a service for the large organisations (and some not so large and even a couple of quite small businesses) in Australia and recently New Zealand.

As Fleur has written,
"Organisations require considerable responsibility and dedication from their managers in order to maintain and improve the delivery of their services. On a day to day basis, managers handle crucial systems and human response to change."

This idea is what in the Company of Coaches provides and with the depth and overall coaching talent that exists in the Company of Coaches, we are able to support from the small business through to the large organisations in Australia and New Zealand
