 Writing: Pride and Prejudice

Graffiti

Pride comes before a fall… or that is the saying that we quite often hear and how many times does that come true.

As with a fair few words in the English language, pride, by definition, sets us up for the fall.

First of all, there is nothing wrong with having pride in oneself but having pride to the detriment of those around us can lead us along a precarious path where one mistake or wrong turn can cause all sorts of interesting scenarios and the doomsayers begin barking at such an opportunity...

As I Was Saying...: The Beers are getting warm

Off TopicIn Australia it is tradition. To be the owner of a beer fridge not only shows your standing in the community but it also offers a shrine to the long line of beer fridge owners who have carried on this tradition since the beer fridge was invented.

A couple of weeks ago, mine broke. The only part that worked was the freezer part, the part that kept the Jack Daniels cold enough and the icecubes in that cube form for dropping in the Jack Daniels to make it colder. (oh and it also keeps the dogfood frozen)...

Writing: The Wrong Side of the Bed

GraffitiHave you ever noticed that when you are in a good mood, everything appears differently to when you are feeling under the weather?

Does this mean that the good mood is a factor in a good day or is it something else that determines whether today is going to be a good day or not.

Take the saying, “He (or she) got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning”

Well I followed this saying up a little and guess what?

As I Was Saying...: Free Coaching... yes, Free Coaching!

Current StuffJust over a day ago, I offered free coaching to five people who were keen to take it on, and if you missed it, here is what the deal was...
Free Coaching... yes, Free Coaching!
Yep, its totally true.

No catches, No contracts. I am offering 5 coaching spots to whoever picks them up. First in, First served. 3 months forum coaching.

Whats needed and wanted?

Well you have to want to change your situation. So if you are prepared to make a move on whatever you want to move on, I am here to offer you my skills as a Coach. Even if you are struggling with the concept of coaching, what have you got to loose?

Nothing more needed than that. The coaching will be entirely forum based (restricted to you and I for confidentiality.) To grab a spot, become a member and then fill out this form with your username and that you wish to take up the coaching offer. (You can even remain anonymous apart from your username) I will then activate your personal forum space and we'll get into it.

So you are still thinking theres a catch? Its your choice and this offer will be picked up pretty quickly. The only way I can prove there's no catch is for you to try it.

cheers... Bill
Well the places were snapped up fast...

You’ve heard it before, We need to become more Team Orientated

Fat chance, you think to yourself… I don’t even like half these idiots and they don’t do half the work I do, and all they do is moan.

Yep, I have heard it said before too. Teams are great if they are firing but they can be hell on earth if there is a dispute or conflict. For some reason, Managers persist with these ideas and try to gee up the members with pep talks and the like but it’s as if the team is lacking some daily vitamin or nutrient. For some reason teams don’t really fire much more than the individuals in them. So what do we have?

A winning team www.allblacks.com

 Writing: Take another look

GraffitiIn the past, I have concentrated on the blindness that we can have and requested you ask yourself questions to move out of any blindness that may be hindering you in your surroundings.

This week I would like to take this a step further and look at this item called Peripheral Vision.

Sometimes we can be convinced we see the whole picture but is that all there is to the equation?

Writing: There are none so blind as those who will not see

Graffiti
Everyday we go about our lives. Doing our work, playing our play but do we see all that we need to?

During the course of my day, I am privy to some very interesting conversations. One, in particular has been in an organization and the way people treat each other inside that organization.

Now this conversation has cropped up from time to time and raises some interesting points about the workings of organizations and groups, especially the blindness that occurs within the confines of the group.

Writing: What's the difference between a call center and getting help?

GraffitiThis last week I have shifted house and with the change of address came the organization of letting everyone know where I was going to. I also had to change my phone number and internet service provider.

I was lucky. Some time ago, I had grouped the two together for ease of billing and only having to call one company when sorting out any problems…

Oh how wrong I could be!

 Writing: Splitting The Personalities

Graffiti

So many times I hear of people who wish to make a few extra bucks to help out but are totally stumped as to what to do.

Talking to some of these intelligent people raises more questions for them than answers but in inquiring further, I always find that they have some fantastic ideas and yet fail to grasp the business nous to take their idea into the real world and make their dream a reality.

So why is it that you have the idea, have a bit of time to devote to the project, most of us even have a little bit of pocket money to spend on it (even if it is just a few dollars) and all have the intellect to carry it through but so many fail to start?

Graffiti
Have you ever secretly thought about something you do and considered that you would like to stop doing it?… you know that little habit that you know you do, and you sure as hell hope that no-one ever catches you doing it

What about that big thing that happens to you when you can least afford it to happen?

Every one of us has one or two of these little embarrassing little habits, and we all know that the ones that don't, usually are pretty good at keeping their secret habit under wraps.
